I have a little boy.....he is not circumcised either. The idea never entered my mind. But then he was born in Europe.

Doctors do it to make money. It also strengthens their hold on the child and his family as the "family doctor" because it's done so early on.
I remember when adenoids were also almost routinely removed for the same reason. Equally unneccessarily.

My son's not circumsized. It's a fad that comes and goes. When my son was born they were worried about the risk of surgery to babies. Sometimes they worry about the ability of little boys to stay clean. It depends on how persuasive the doctor is when talking to the parents.

You should have him done. Having circumcised reduces the bacterial/viral infection in comparison to not circumcised. Also you should have it done for your boy. I got it done when I was like 12. First time in my life, I felt great special pain. I think you should get it done for him because the younger they are, faster they heal.

In my opinion, circumcision is considered to be a sanitary precaution by eliminating a fold of the skin that could harbor bacteria.

I add something else to your comment ... Jewish and/or Muslim but not only ... something against it ? you should not ...
a typical european reaction (not to say french (sic) ) ...
In fact it's a simple Hygienic reason and a preventive medical measure (phimosis, AIDS and more...) !!!!
