I am a divorced single mom of a 18 yr old handsome son. I have had a very bad marriage that lasted longer than it should have. My son was the only saving grace. Over the past few months, I have been noticing him grow into a man - and a very handsome one at that. We are a relatively open family - but with strong roots in ethics. I am scared about my feelings for my son - they are very intense and sensual. Have any other moms felt this way? Please do not cast any judgements - I am only asking since I am very confused and scared. I am an American and live in Texas.

I just want to add that this feeling, while it is totally immoral, is over powering. And I suspect my son feels it too. I am a psychology major myself - and am completely aware of the causes and issues. God, I just don't know what to do! (Crying now..)

I would imagine that you may be seeing his father in him, perhaps he looks a lot like him or has his mannerisms and it reminds you of his father during better times in your marriage. It would be very harmful for your son if you act upon these feelings or even let him become aware of how you feel. You MUST seek counseling as soon as possible. Please put your son's emotional and psychological health at the forefront and seek counseling so you can sort out your feelings.

hi although i'm not a mom but i can still relate and never do i judge,
u have to realize by acting on those feelings may have adverse effect, jus remember to put his feelings fist. u would never want for him to have different feelings about women or girls. have u talked to him? do u even know how he feels about insecest or gay or lesbain? what i'm trying to say is know your son. your questions will be answered. your feelings may not goaway but at least u will have insite as to how to deal with them..........hope this helps.......peace

remember he is your son u gave birth to him. It is natural that u should feel a strong bond. But if you feel anything sexual that is EXTREMELY WRONG and u should get help.

why dont you get marrid again...or some 1 else for this..because your son will never like to put his """""" into urs where he came from, and used to lived in for 9 months.... and you dont have to do this ... stop thinking in that way for him.... you have to find some1 else ...
