I'm nearly 50, and there has been none yet. It normally happens when someone realizes how much of their life has passed by, and how many things that they wanted to accomplish, haven't been done. They look at themselves in the mirror with more honesty, and they see their father or mother instead of themselves, which can be a shock to their system, for sure. It reminds them that the golden days of their youth are gone, and nobody really wants to face that.

I had a friend who turned 25, and it just happened that at the same time she found a list she'd made in high school of things she wanted to accomplish by the time she reached 25. Not one of those things had been done, and she was devastated. Really - it was like the whole world was falling away beneath her. To me it was ridiculous, but to her it was a very real crisis.

Some men find a little balding spot and run out and buy a red sports car to prove to themselves that they're still attractive to young women.

Those midlife terrors are out there, but the more satisfied and happy you are with your life, the less likely that it will happen to you. That in itself could be a guiding force in your life.

I'm 43, and my mid life crisis lasted about 2 days. Once I realized that I just had to change my priorities a little (finding a husband could no longer be the most important thing in my life) I accepted it and moved on. Actually, once I got past that little hurdle, life has been better than ever. HOWEVER, I do encourage you to enjoy being young and cute while you are. The second 20 years goes a LOT faster than the first :)

35. I think that mid life crisis start in the 40's to men in the 1980's who are balding and need to drive a red sports car. I don;t feel much different from when I was 25 except that I don't have a stupid boyfriend and a hangover every day.

I might be a little over the "Mid-life" point at 46, but yes. I am now. Because I'm going through a divorce and it's hard for me to realize I'm this age and I can't go back. I feel and act way younger, and I think it will be hard for me to find a really good relationship at this point. When I look in the mirror, I don't recognize the person that's there. It feels scary and depressing, but I work on accepting my age every day.

Yes I am that age group, but I feel more like late 20's. I feel pretty good actually. No mid life crisis here.

Yes but it didn't last a month. I kept thinking I've done nothing with my life. My husband and daughter were kind and supportive until the feelings past.
