Different people have different tastes. The world would be hideously boring if it wasn't that way. But you might like to know that Forest Gump has been shown on every single American critics list of greatest movies of all time, and usually it is in the top ten....it was still playing in many thaters the day that it hit video. It made Tom Hanks a super star and he's been earning $25 million a movie ever since. But I understand your confusion....my pet peeve is the movie "Dazed and Confused"...I liked several of the actors a lot better before I sat through that rubbish, but it has a HUGE cult following. I loved other movies in it's genre like Friday, Empire Records, etc. but D and C was totally boring to me. That's life.

Yes I've seen forest gump once when it came out. I agree with you that everytime it comes on TV that you don't need to watch it.

Buy the DVD for him. I find once I have that or even record a movie, I tend not to watch it very often. I think I watch some on TV every time it comes on because I have a limited time. With a DVD, I can watch it any time--so I don't.

Your right, it was a good movie, and Tom Hanks did a wonderful job in it. But to see it once a month is difinitly going overboard.
That's why I taped it so I could see it when ever I wanted to without taking a chance of missing something else that was on when that is on. But I still don't watch it everytime it comes on even if theres nothing else that I wanted to see (Does that make any sense?)

I love it.I recommend your husband read the book by Winston Groom. It is different from the movie, but has many similarities. Forrest becomes a pro wrestler, among other things. He doesn't say buttocks he says @ss. There is a sequel called Gump and Company where he invents new coke. Different from the movie, but good stories.

I don't know why, but I've never really enjoyed that movie. I worked as a Teacher's Assistant for Special Education and just didn't feel that the movie was very realistic.

My daughter, who is learning disabled, could sit still and watch that movie twice in a row. I don't understand why it has that effect on some people, but it does. I could barely sit through it the first time.

Yes, I have watched that movie, but not twice in a row. I get bored to death and want to watch something else.
Life is like a box of chocolates; if you don't savor each piece, they are going to get stale and then you are sh!t out of luck!
Or, something like that. LOL

I'm with you, saw it once, and have had no desire to see it again. But to each his own, I'm sure your husband, wouldn't care for some of the movies I like to watch all the time.
It must have touched something in him.
