Do something new in your area. Possibly a cultural store or reasturant of your native country. Reasturants are always good :)

Takes money to make money.
If you don't have it, then have good credit & a good business plan to present to lenders.
Many local governments also have Economic Planning & Development loans, if your business will create local jobs.
Then, stick with your plan, and don't get greedy till you can afford to. Average 5 year start up.
A good area now is in long-term health care... Community Based Residential Facilities; Assisted Living; Adult family Homes; Adult Day Care... (but these involve opening your business up to State inspectors, high insurance, and hectic staffing issues, etc...)
