Help me girls. I'm on my cycle, I just started today, and my cramps are horrifying. They always hurt terribly but they have never hurt this bad. Tylenol and Aspirins don't work for me. Any calming/soothing techniques?

You need to take an anti anflamatory pain killer like ibuoprophen. Advil liquagels work the best. Make sure you take them every 4-6 hours as this will create a pain manage ment plateau. Also take a long hot bath to relieve the tension in the muscles or use a heating pad. exercise helps too.

yeah, sometimes cramps can sure be a pain, I would try things like taking a hot bath, or using a heating pad, i also find that Advil works better for pain than tylenol, also try a little bit of yoga as the deep breathing with also help relax the muscles, and also excercising before your period may help as well, i find too that since i have been on the pill, or patch my cramps aren't as bad either. Good Luck hope this helps!

Tylenol and Asprin thins out your blood actually, so it's not the best to use. Try using MIDOL. Also, if you've seen those ThermaCare patchess.. they're a bit expensive but work wonders. For a quick, at home cheap way.. a heating pad on your bare stomach just above your uterus works just as well too. Also, caffeine can intensify cramps so don't consume much of it. If you like, make decaff. green tea or coffee with only a tiny bit of sugar to help you relax.

What the ladies ahead of me said about hot baths/towels, and ibuprofen or motrin is right on target. And this may sound strange, but I always eat a banana every day of my period. Maybe it's the potassium in the banana, or just luck, but I definately feel a difference in cramping (if I have any at all). I also take multivitamins ( high in iron), and drink alot of water. These are also things you can utilize to prepare your body for your monthly visitor :).

Try going on the pill for long term relief. But for now try a heating pad, lay down and get some rest. Take a Motrin 800 helps.

I always use a heating pad, switching it from tummy to bum. A nice hot relaxing bath is very beneficial. My mother always gave me vitamin B complex for this. Ibuprofen works better than acetaminophen...Motrin or Advil. Mydol is made specifically for menstrual cramps.

Ok. The same thing has happened to me. You can lay flat on the floor in an attempt to relax the muscles. Apply a heating pad to your tummy area. You can even do a bridge while on the floor, if you're feeling up to it, to stretch out those annoying muscles!

a warm soak in the tub or having the shower head put on hard beat might help. What I've found out helps me is to get out side and excerize my butt off. Takes the cramps right away and makes the flowage easier...and quicker.

if you are soaking on tampon/pad an hour you need to go to the ER if you just have really bad cramps and a normal period then you should apply heat to the outside and just wait it out. it will get better, but if your period is heavy... you should use tylenol beacause advil will make your period thin out so it will seem heavier

Takiing a walk (or doing some kind of exercise you can handle) and a couple of Excedrin always worked for me. I had buckling pains. Midol and stuff like that makes you dizzy and nauseous and for me, didn't even help.
