You need to remove the grubs it is feeding on in your lawn.

Alternatively, you can buy this, but I have no idea if it works:

Ask At Home Interiors
Hi To stop the problem from the root of it is to get a cat. Some people have objections to having the feline as part of the family.
The good thing is most landlords tolerate cats and if you own the home remember that cleaning a cat box is cheaper than replaceing the lawn or fixing the things a rat or mouse can damage . Not to mention Yuck mouse turds in my kitchen..
I think the answer outweighs the delimna.

I've been told if you put a piece of Juicy Fruit gum in the tunnels that will get ride of moles. Make sure you are wearing gloves, or evidently they won't eat it. It sounds funny, and I have no verification that it works. But I've heard it on more than one occasion.

There are traps made for getting them either alive or to kill them in the ground. They love grubs so another way to treat them is to treat for the grubs and they will move on somewhere else.

The moles are eating grubs in your soil. Treat for grubs and the moles will go away.
