typically the Manga of an anime is better than the series. However there are some exceptions to that. Not to mention it also depends on if you like to read or listen. but over all I think that Anime are better only because you can see the motion in it and the songs and voices make it a better experience

It really depends on the series. I like the FLCL anime much better than the manga, as I do with the GTO series, but both of Ken Akamatsu's works that have been animated have been very sub-par animes. (As have others.)
...In the end, it's really just about opinion.
