i dropped my ipod video and now for a few days theres been a see blinking that sais do not disconnect even when the ipod is not connected to anything. what should i do?

Try resetting it. Turn hold on and off. Hold Menu and the middle button at the same time until you see the Apple logo appear.

plug it in and hold the middle button and the bottom button for 4 or 5 seconds,it will reset and you wont lose anything
