Subscribe to a phone service like Time Warner, Verizon or AOL. Their internet service comes with a good firewall. If you want an instant solution, go to download.com and find a Pop-Up Blocker.

You don't want to get rid of them, popup blockers prevent you from getting all the ads and junk, that cause you to get spyware and other bad infections for your computer.

if you use internet explorer, try disabling them by right clicking in the toolbar and un-select the blocker.
Other options is to uninstall them. Which browser do you use?
