Yeah it always bugs me when people stand in the middle of the escalator in my way. I'd personally rather walk up.

Well, in most cases, you hit an escalator when shopping or something similar. I know I stand on it for a quick 30 second break as I;m still moving where I want. The only time walking up or down an escalator would be meaningful is if your at an airport where time is an issue.

Man, if I wanted to walk up the escalator, then I would take the stairs. I mean when we get off the escalator we have to walk the rest of the way right? Well, then I'm gonna get my break, and relax while I can. Call me lazy, but hey, if yall don't like people standing on the escalators, then take the stairs.

I like escalators, they're fun to ride. The only thing more fun than simply riding on an escalator is trying to walk down an escalator going up, or the other way around. Problem is that people don't take kind to strangers walking into them. :'(

It's called laziness. Otherwise the builders would install stairs. Seriously though, there are people who cannot ascend stairs and as such require the use of escalators and elevators in order to get where they are going. Remember, not all handicaps are visible to the eye. But unfortunately in this "All about me" age of ours far to many healthy people have come to rely on such devices. Sad. However from another point of view, maybe to many people are in too much of a hurry nowadays and should slow down a bit and enjoy the sites.

They are afraid they will trip on the treads and take a header. Ouch. I get somewhat dizzy on some of the escalators that are really high. How about some of those going a couple stories down into the subway. Now that really makes me start to sway.

It actually is a ride. Try reading the yellow warning stickers at the beginning and end of the escalator that says to get on, hold onto the rail, and stay where you are. I'm not saying it's right, but that's what they say.

I stand there because people won't get out of my way. Unless I'm in the airport or a subway and then they move to the right because people in the city just know to do that.
