Most likely what you think it is, is what it is. A douche is a female hygiene product that is made of plastic and uses medicinal liquid to clean up inside the vagina. The part of the douche that holds the liquid is the "bag" even though it really isn't a bag. For some unknown reason, people have turned the word douchebag into slang to be an insult.

douche is the French word that means, "wash". Douche in America is a product designed to clean the vaginal area. It is a bad idea because it upsets the natural ph balance and make odors worse, so just regular and normal cleansing is sufficient. (P.S.> Douche used to be sold in bags, but it is now in convenient syringes, hence the word, "douche- bag")

Douche was not always purchased in the drug store. Remember grandma's hot water bottle? Well, viniger and stuff was put into that "water bottle" and a tube was attached and then inserted in... The bottle was then squeezed. Thats how it used to work...

It an old term for a device that women used to use to clean themselves out. I saw one my grandma had, you hooked it up to the shower & it had an accordian type bag on it, somehow , I'm not sure how, but somehow, the thing cleaned you out.
