There have been "home-grown terrorists" in America almost as long as the continent has been settled by Europeans.

At first they occured only sporadically, and the damage they did was mostly to wildlife and nature. We now remember them as "trappers" and did had a devastating effect on the natural balance of the American environment.
With immigration numbers rising, they became more numerous and extended their terrorist activities towards the native people, then called "Red Indians", but now acknowledged as Native Americans (even though their own origin lay in Asia). After a while of private terror, the new USA and her army joined in and created an early system of state-sponsored terrorism. This was so effective that most of the Native Americans were wiped out.

Parallel to this development a large number of private terror gangs established themselves in the so-called "Wild West" as guns for hire who would terrorise anyone regardless of colour, ethnicity, creed and status as long as they were payed for it or gained profit from it in other ways.

Since the late 19th century these gangs also operated beyond the US borders, first in Mexico and Canada, then also in Central and South America and further afield. In 1898 the state joined in once more with the American-Spanish War, sending bands of terrorising shock troops to the Spanish colonies of Cuba and the Philippines.
Ever since terrorists "home-grown in the USA" have brought fear and violence to many parts of the world, either as individuals and small goups operating for private interests, or as large organised military bodies known as the US Marine Corps and the US Army.

For the past 60 years a new dimension has entered that frame: US lead and financed undercover operations, organised by the CIA and other state agencies. These involve Americans as well as large numbers of foreigners under US control.
One of the most recent of these groups is "Al Qaeda", which was formed by the CIA as a Muslim spearhead against the Russians occupying Afghanistan. They recruited fighters in the Middle East, trained, armed and financed them and selected their leader, a Saudi Arabian multi-millionaire and ex-playboy named Osama bin Laden. They even developed the idea of the modern "jihad", the holy war for political purposes, and the books about it were written and printed at the University of Nebraska. (I saw them myself during the 1980s in Pakistan and Afghanistan.)
The group is still under CIA control and by now one of their "black operations" which do offically not exist and are even kept secret from Congress and other political bodies, except the top brass at the White House. They have been used successfully to create a desire for war in the majority of US citizens, to create an excuse for invading and occupying Afghanistan, and partially for the war against Iraq and the continuing illegal occupation of that country.

It is also known that both CIA and FBI use undercover and sting operations quite regularly, setting up illegal and terrorist groups with taxpayers' money in order to lure gullible idiots into them for participation. Whenever it suits the political leadership, one of these groups is busted and sold to the gullible public as "a great success in the fight against crime and terrorism". The few stupid run-alongs are tried and disappear into jails for the rest of their miserable lives, while the organisers move on to do the same thing all over again elsewhere, spending more taxpayers' money on it.
All this together makes the USA the home of 90% of the world's terrorists.

Al Qaeda specifically seeks out blacks, esp because some from of Islam is growing in that area.

This gorup lived together in a para military fashion, and was witnessed training like military. They were part of a "NEW" Christian/Islam mix religion, and as many militants had a hatred for the US. Al Qaeda was merely a way to a need.

There are many hate religioius groups, I am sure in many races, but there are alot of very specific groups that teach race hatred . There is a large group in Atlanta called
The Shrine(church) of the Black Madona, preach that all whites are evil and are of Satan, and that any black that has any dealings with whites are also doomed. And that only when the real black jesus comes will the blacks be saved from the whites.

Try reversing the races and see how long that church could be open before the government would close it.

But there are many hate groups in America, many just need the idea it is time to react, You do need to be very worried about all these various groups, each with thier own needs to beleive it is time to act

why on earth would the CIA just randomly arrest 7 men for attempting to plot a terrorist attack? An arabic informant was said to have been sent in posing as an Al-Queda contact....Not to sound racist....but one of the quotes given in the newspaper and spoken by Narseal Batiste (the ring leader) to the informant was that he wanted to plan a "full ground war..." against the U.S."To kill all the devils we can." This is a term that has been used before by nation of Islam members....Look at louis farrahkans anti-'white devil' stance and preachings....see the connection? Home grown terrorists? I would say yes!

There is such a thing as "home grown terrorists". The people who committed the July 7th bombings in London and the people who tried the same thing a fortnight later had been "radicalised" by Al Qaeda sympatheic imans (Muslim religious leaders)

Don't all criminals claim they were set up? Where there is smoke there is fire. I'm sure you say they were set up because they were black? You don't have to have contact with Al-Qaeda to claim allegiance to them and to try an 'independent' terrorist act.

I think Option 2.
Patriot Act at work. They can accuse you and round you up. Yes even those who support it. You have given up habeas corpus, which means you may be detained without trial. "I have done nothing wrong". Right or wrong doesn't matter. How will prove right or wrong if you don't get a trial??
Better be on the good side of the powers that be. Disagree even once and you may be on the bad side.

I don't think it's wise to speculate until the facts are shown. These people will have their day in court, until then, the media shouldn't speculate. The authorities have their allegations, the trial will show what can be proven, not the media.

I wouldn't put it past them. We don't know all the details. I live with my brother and I have no idea what he does. So, you can't believe that just because someone is family that you know exactly what their capable of.
