Victorian era books (Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, etc.) and Historical fiction are my favorites. Sharon Kay Penman wrote an amazing trilogy about the struggles of the Welsh Princes and English Kings. The first book was called "There be Dragons." The tales are relatively true and heart-wrenching, especially in "The Reckoning" when Wales falls. The trilogy has a Tristan & Isolde or King Arthur feel.

I like Christian books and books that are inspirational and encouraging. Right now, I am reading the best book I have ever read in my life. It is called "Unlikely Angel" by Ashley Smith. She was the Atlanta hostage hero who got Brian Nichols to surrender to the police. I highly recommend that book to read.

Love reading, have since I learned to read. Mysteries and sci-fi, and biographies, and war stories. No sad stories, not my style.
