My personal belief is that it is unacceptable for anyone to warn anyone else about a uncontrollable human bodily function. gas from what I thought was involuntary. You hope it is discreet, you let it out, excuse yourself and move on hoping that your dealing with another adult. But I have never warned anyone we all do it. it is just the manner in which we do it. quiet as kept, you may even get a laugh out of it.

I find when you don't know someone well it's embarrassing to say anything but certainly should say excuse me or go to another room or outside.It's too bad we don't know before hand if there going to be silent or noisey.On the other hand when two people are comfortable with each other they just let it go.
