Because there are still idiot people on this planet. People that can't see beyond skin color or religion.
Also it is convenient for some groups to have an enemy to target. Good guys vs bad guys kinda thing.

A lot of people don't know or take the time to sort through all the sects u guys have, so it's just automatic for them to single y'all out. My dad's bags get checked everytime he flies abroad, and he's Indian. I was advised after 9/11 to say I was mexican for a while since those who are ignorant might see my medium complextion and assume I was muslim. It's better to be safe than sorry though, so I hope ur dad didn't feel too bad. Oh, the security checks in Europe are BAD, American's have it easy compared to them. One time on the way to INdia we made a stop in London, and dad got out of the plane and decided to go potty, upon returning, he had to go through a security check! I'm glad I didn't have to go!

The Media's depiction--which is really a sweeping generality of muslim people. There are thousand, no, millions of great muslim people all over the world. I'm Mexican, dark-skinned, not too tall, short hair cut, and when I go to the airport, I know exactly how muslim people feel. People are often surprised that I speak English--but I also speak fluent Spanish, Japanese, Italian, and French. Stereotypes can be quite wrong/misleading.

For every race and religon, there is always those few who make the rest of the people bad. You can't think "Well, just because those few Muslims attacked America, then all Muslims are bad." It doesn't work that way. Muslims are awesome people. They are more faithful to their religon then most devout christians. They have a rich and full history, most have morals and character, ect. You can't judge a whole ethnic and religous group of people by what a few mis-guided men did.

because the 9/11 terrorists were not some radical cult that made up their own version of Islam; they simple followed it as it was written. One thousand years ago the crusades happend and the Islamic World declared Jihad on the Chritian World. And today one of the terrorists justifications is that "we" launched the crusades killed about half the number of muslims they themselves have killed for "know reason" Now today i hear people saying we can't talk about nukes because we DROPED no launched one 60 years ago, which only means we of all people know the dangers of these weapons. well i say if you can ignore a 1000year old War we can ignore a coupla cities

The more important question might be "Why do YOU think we think all Muslims are terrorists?"
I don't. Never have.
And I have been detained trying to ride a freaking plane. White as crap, too old to be a problem, and I got separated, searched, and delayed.
Don't give me that crap.
This stuff has us all being harassed.
Sorry about your dad man, but it is what we all are going through at the moment.
Yeah, and it sucks.

Hmm, true, not all Muslims are terrorist, but, almost all terrorist so far have been Muslims. Since it is impossible to tell by looking if a person is a terrorist, many people will default to suspecting all Muslims. It should not be that way, but it is, and there is nothing that will effectively change it.

Muslims are not speaking out against those who usurp their religion for their own political ends.I pray for a Moslem reformation. Where the infidel is respected, and a Shiite can comisserate with a Sunni. Blowing up Mosques is not what Mohammed had in mind. Nor Allah

most ppl do NOT think ALL muslims are terrorist. yet, if in doubt, i guess soem think it's better to be safe than sorry. not always fair, but sometimes better for the good of the majority. I think YOU should not generalize the actions of a few onto all the rest of non-muslims. Think about that.

I don't know! Do you think it could be the relentless, proclaiming of jihad against the USA??
The isamics want to lie and claim that isa=lam is a religion of peace, but it is not!
the koran (one of many spellings I have seen) tells to kill ALL infidels WHERE EVER THEY ARE TO BE FOUND!!!
Islam claims this about the Christians, too, but no where in the Bible does it state anything even remotely similar.
By the way, to islam, an infidel is ANY non-muslim.
