i was thinking of going into paranormal studies, you know, ghosts, vampires, aliens, the works. but my mom thinks its a stupid thing to major in. Is anybody else with me when i say "my mom is the one being stupid"?
i ahve a real passion for the paranormal and she has to stomp all over them. whats up with that?

Well I say that if that is what you want to do, then go for it. I believe in the paranormal, and I think it would be great if somebody could prove vampires and such really do exist, who knows, maybe you'll be that person.
As for me, well I want to be a paleontologist.

You should definitely go for it if that's what you want to do. I wouldn't necessarily say your mom is being stupid unless she won't support your decision. I also have a huge passion for the paranormal as well but really don't see the benefits of making a career out of it as there isn't much out there and it wouldn't pay as well.
I'm eventually going to go to school to become an Elementary Special Education teacher. =)

I don't think it's "stupid" although it might not be a wise career decision since jobs in that field are very limited. Maybe you can think of a back-up plan in case that doesn't work out? Or minor in that and major in something else? No one can stop you if you really wanna go into that but it might just not be an ideal choice if you want to establish a good career.
As for what I want to major in, I... have no clue. Something related to Chemistry/Biology, maybe? I like those subjects. But I'm not sure.

I hate to poop on your parade, but I really think you should try that in your spare time. Studying it on your own...more of a hobby than a career. I don't know if you could make a living off of the paranormal...but hey, if you can, then definitely go for it! :-)

You need to worry about getting a job. Paranormal studies isn't exactly BIG right now.
I'm in Aerospace Engineering currently.

I'm going for music.. education and if you mention to anyone that you're going to school for music they don't always think that you will become anything or make any money, go for paranormal studies, if you really like it what other people say shouldn't matter. :) Good luck!!

HELL yea that is what i wanted to do with my life i say study up on it..get some degrees and if worse comes to worse write books and teach about it...there is some money in there. otherwise your gonna be broke not much money in that department...and who cares your mom has lived her life let her live yours..do something you enjoy doing
