Ok.. We can find a few reasons as to why the British media don't praise the Lankans. I think the most obvious reason is this. When England won the Ashes against the Aussies, the British media "overrated" the British team "unnecessarily" and now the team has lost its pride as they're being trashed by Sri Lanka..Is it something that the British media has expected? Is there any way that the British media is going to put all blame on the British team now? No, because they know they are the ones who overrated the team a few months back.. So, the only thing they can do is to point out all those lame excuses. I don't think that England can come up with the same "injury" excuse over and over again. Even Sri Lanka is now out of some top players including Marvan,Dilhara and Murali. Therefore, they cannot take injuries as an excuse. The other reason is, they always say that the Asian cricket teams ( India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka) struggle outside the subcontinent. So, when they are being trashed by the Lankans in their home soil, it is something that they can't take.. Another reason is that the media knows whatever they put in their media in favour of Sri Lanka is gonna hit headlines in other news papers outside England. So, rather than saying that the Lankans are better than England, they just keep saying that injuries caused most of the defeats. After the 3rd match ODI, how many British papers praised Jayawardene's century? Is it an easy task to hit three centuries by three batsmen in three games? England is not suffering from poor batting but bowling department is a bit poor but as a leading cricketing nation, they should be able to replace the injured with some top class players. Take Australia as an example. Sri Lanka is way behind England as far as the player facilities are concerned but they make the best use out of their talented players. Let's see what England have to say when they are defeated 5-0.. Let's hope they can come up with a better excuse than injuries.
