Don't come to a stop until you get where you want to go.

hi, you should take it to a repair shop and have them put it on a scanner and see what codes come up. From there you can figure it out. Like all the other answers, it could be any one or more of them plus even more like a possible intake manifold leak or fuel pump without the right fuel pressure or not comming out of what they call "closed loop" or a map sensor or throttle position sensor. You get the picture. Thats where the scanner will help. Good luck, Gramps

check the idle air control moter on the throttle body it could have carbon on the tip or carbon build up in the throttle body or on the butterfly trap in the throttle body clean it with carb clean or check the mass air flow sensor it is between the throttle body and air filter housing take out the two screws that hold the square piece in the mass air flow housing pull it out look at the two wires there but dont touch them they break easy spray them with carb clean toif that fixes it for the check engine light disconnect the battery for 30 sec. then reconnect light should be off and save u from going to the shop

Your probably vapor locking. The most inexpensive solution: Wooden clothes pins (a couple of them) directly clamped onto your fuel line under the hood. If that doesn't work, it may be a sensor, that would require a diagnostic machine and a mechanic.

These cars will sometimes have a leak from the door seals and it will run down under the dash and short out things not always the case but I have had it happen more than once. could be lots of other things as well

It sounds like a clogged fuel filter to me. Or, it could be an intermittent problem because the problem sounds like it is erratic.
If is that, they can sometimes be a bear to find. Start with a new fuel filter, with any luck you will score on your first try.

Could be a faulty MAP sensor, or control module. Also check for a cracked or broken vacuum line going to the MAP sensor.

oh, buddy. i totally feel your pain. I had a 93 i got rid of just a while ago. it did the same thing-- couldn't find the problem. My best friend had one... it started to do that while driving down the road- she would have to pull over and put on the flashers every time. get the hell rid of it.
