A company owes me a refund (past due 3 months). How do I collect this? Can an individual use a collection agency? The amount is more than $500, and the company has failed to provide an explanation as to why they will not pay.

You can file a small claims case with your local courts( if they are found at fault, the judge can also make them pay your courts costs). Or you can go to a collection agency, but they will charge you a fee. You may also contact an attorney( who will charge you a fee or percentage) or the local Better Business Bureau.

go to firstgov.gov then search for Department of Labor, Employees Benefits Security Administration. Look up a location near you and go there or call. That's the place to go for benefits and pay disputes.

you may need to speak to a lawyer. when we owe a company money we keep getting letters, but when the company owns us money, you wait and wait and wait, and get lied to.
