for some reason it won't let me download java or shockwave so i can listen to music and play games. why is that can someone help me i'm not a comp, wiz.

The fact that it is listed under "vintage and obsolete products" on the Apple page should be your first clue. What OS are you using on it? There's barely anything compatible with OS 9 nowadays, that's why I just bit the bullet and got a new iMac.
