Go to the health food store and buy some Castile soap. Mix it according to directions (a bottle of this lasts forever and has a million uses) and spray where the flies are. You may have to spray several times and after it rains. A friend of mine worked at a nursing home and was cited by the health department for the flies outside, she tried this and it worked great. You can use this stuff as toothpaste so don't worry about poisoning yourself. It also works great as a pest repellent in your garden, great for those tomato worms!

There are some sprays that will kill them but if you get rid of all they normally would want to eat or be around, they will eventually thin down too. Otherwise, if you can find them, I went to Wal Mart and found some yellow traps that you put a little water in them and hang them outside and it will trap flies in it as it draws them to it by a foul smelling concoction inside and when it is full, you just close it and put it in the garbage can. If there is any feedlots close by, that will be where they are coming from.
