My teacher used to say there is no such thing as a dumb/stupid question. But is it just me or are people getting dumber by the second. I mean just the other day a 15-year old asked me what color the sky is! What kind of question is that? Anyways if u have an idea on a REALLY stupid question, i would really like to know.

I've always heard there is no such thing as a stupid question. Maybe some people ask something that seems stupid to you because you already know it, but remember at some point you did not know the answer.
Some questions on here that seem to be stupid are people just having fun or being funny or whatever.

First off, let's answer the question about the sky. Most people will say blue but that is wrong!! The sky is blue due to the reflection of the mass amounts of water on earth thus making it seem blue.
Now to answer your question. There are those questions that have very little thought behind them, and therefore could be assumed as a stupid or dumb question.
I will ask this though, how is one to learn anything if they don't ask questions?? No matter how dumb they may seem at times, questions have there purpose, just as much so as answers.

Well, honestly, that wasn't a stupid question because it looks blue to us. That doesn't mean it's blue though. It only LOOKS blue. Anyway, yes there can be stupid questions, if someone is trying to be funny or if you think it is a stupid question, but if the asker is really being serious, and honestly doesn't know the answer, then no it's not stupid, they have the guts to ask so give them some props for it.

Not everyone can be an intellectual dynamo, alot of questions seem stupid or silly but if they were asked in the quest for knowledge then I would say they are not stupid. Alot of people on this just ask stupid stuff to get a reaction.

A long time ago I used to say that the only stupid questions were the ones that weren't asked....
Nowadays, especially after seeing some of the lu-lus on hear I have to hold my tongue.

I think the only stupid question is a question not asked. maybe there was something wrong with the girl like she was color blind or something you never know.

All ppl have their 'airhead' moments when they sometimes ask stupid questions. Most of the time ppl have just mistaked what they meant or just 'weren't thinking' when they asked a real dumb one. I can't count the number of times I've asked something really stupid and about the time it is out of my mouth, I go, "duh oh", and realize the answer.
