Depends on the style you are looking into.
For metal, I would say the best singer is probably Geoff Tate from Queensryche. He has the range, the quality, and the strength oif voice that too many others do not have. The best band would have to be either Iron Maiden, or Dream Theater due to the musicianship and songwriting.
For best group in regular, ordinary rock, I would have to go with either the Rolling Stones, or Aerosmith for the longevity, the musicnaship, the entertainment value, and the ability to have hit songs in every decade, and on almost every album. The best vocalist would- for me, anyhow- be Robert Plant.
Fopr modern AOR style music, the best singer would be Alicia Keyes. Modern AOR group is... well... none.
