I actually watched a football / soccer game the other day and I was most upset!
Once upon a time, when a player got hurt a man with a bucket used to come running over and place a magical wet spnge on the players leg, which would miraculousy cure his ailment.
Nowadays it takes 2 men and a spray can of something!

What happened to the sponge? and why does it take 2 men and a can of spray to mend players nowadays?

The magic sponge moved on to bigger and better things.
He got his own television show.
His name is Bob.
Maybe you've seen his show. If you haven't, ask any kid. He'll tell you about it.

The spray can is probably liquid nitrogen...I've noticed that too. Instead of putting ice on it, they just spray it on to reduce swelling.

At least that's what I saw in Baseball after they beaned Jeter the other day.
