One way to show your teacher how you feel about her is to by her a card she will always cherish. Stay in touch with her because your message gives me the impression that she has been a very good influence in your life for an 8th grader. However do not confuse her cares and concerns with that of a mom. All teachers are moms and dads because, just like our real moms and dads, teachers want the best and hope the best for us and will do all that they can to help us along the way.

Whatever her friends are saying, do not discard it but don't believe everything they say. If your teacher has a motherly connection to you, she will let you know.

Absolutely, tell her how you feel and thank her for all she has done for you. Explain to her that you think of her as a second Mom, I think it will make her feel like she has accomplished something in her line of work. Teachers are doing a lot for the community and rarely get thanked for it, and most want to know that they have accomplished something. They work with children because they like them, so go for it, pour your heart out, but...... beware, you are moving on to a new grade with new teachers and she may not be able to spend as much time with you. Just don't feel ashamed or uncomfortable about feelings, they are there for a reason. Maybe get her a nice card to remember you, I am sure she will keep it, I would.

That is so, beautiful but yet so sad, those feeling you have for your teacher are good and you should express them too her. I just wish over the summer you and your mother could become a little closer.

Bottom line: Go ahead and express your feeling but try to keep some open contact with your real mother too. Not all the time are people put in our lives to replace others but to remind us to enhance what is sometimes already there and just a little lost.

Sweetie, that is why she is there. She is a great teacher because she believes in you and cares for you. Write her a letter telling her how much she has done for you and what a powerful impact she has made on your life. Just one person believing in someone can make all thedifference in the world.........thank her for being that special someone. And make sure you stay in touch with her. Good teachers are like moms and dads and they miss their kids when they go on.

It always makes a person feel good when they are recognized. I think you should tell her and let her know that she has made a huge impact in your life.

For you to feel that she is a better Mom to you than your actual mother is scary. And I hope that your teacher recognizes this trust and does not abuse it in any way / form.

You sound like you need mentoring / guidance from a grown up just be careful who you chose for that role.

~Good luck.

Having your teacher as your mentor (someone who you admire because of her/his values, etc)is great.

Tell her how much you admire her as a teacher and as a comadant (Someone who you confide in) and hope you could remain in contact even after you move on to the 9th grade and up.

Wanting to live with her for the summer, or forever, is a no-no. Unfortunately, we are unable to pick our families. She cannot replace the family you have.

Have a good summer!

Why is this such a traumatic crisis for you? Write her a little note or get her a thank you card. Thank her for everything and let her know that you feel , but don't be too strong about it. Maybe tell her that she makes you feel very comfortable and welcome and that you truly looked up to her and see her as being more of a friend than a teacher.

There is nothing wrong with complementing a teacher like that. Just stick to "mom".
