Why do they not understand what continental drift is, what tectonic plates are? why are they so hesitant to learn how rocks (continents move). Why do they assume continental "drift" means they float? And why won't they get any information from anyone with an education and credibility? hmm?

christians who accept the theory of plate tectonics should also have no reason not to accept the theory of evolution. if christians had it their way there would be no technology or science, because science strives to resolve why something exists or happens, when christians already have their answer, "because god wills it..."

I'm a Christian, and I know what continental drift is, as well as what tectonic plates are. In fact, I don't know anyone who disputes that. I even teach this stuff. Just because tectonic plates are moving does not mean God doesn't exist. Why make blanket assumptions?

Earthquakes accomplish many things for God, from churning up new fertilizer for the soil to getting the lazy one out of bed. But your question is probably about destructive earthquakes, and you probably object to them because they kill. But what is the difference between dying in an earthquake and dying in a car crash? The REAL question is why do we die--and the answer to that is a scary answer. We humans were meant to live forever, but we disobeyed. God isn't going to have immortals running around eternally disobeying Him. Even demons will be chained up for eternity, so why should the humans who listen to them be different?
Christians don't deny earthquakes happen. Rather, some might provide pointed questions on plate tectonics because it is a theory that is only as good as the facts it can predict. Actually, your last question could be directed at the folks you listen to.
I've here (just read it while waiting for page loads) about the "scientist" basing his or her claims for evolution on hope and guesses because the idea of matter out of non-matter and life out of non-life itself violates natural laws. Now, we observe these natural laws so often in nature that we call them LAWS, which means no one breaks them. But the entire construct of evolution is built on a guess that at some point these laws didn't exist, so they didn't matter. That's a convenient dodge.
