The Roman territories included Palestine, but it is not regarded as a state except as an occupied territory of Isreal, and therefore it cannot (yet) be eligable for representation in the UN except as an observer. Parts of Moldova (northeast of Bulgaria) may have been included in the Roman Empire at times, but it is not listed as being a member of the UN.

As of 2006 there exist 191 United Nations member states, including virtually all internationally recognized independent nations, except Vatican City (or the Holy See, which has declined membership but is an observer state), Palestine (whose status is still one of a de facto state, and has not yet legally declared statehood), Niue and the Cook Islands (whose foreign affairs are dealt with by the New Zealand Government), and Taiwan, which has not been recognized by the UN as independent or as the Republic of China (whose status as a member state was transferred to the People's Republic of China in 1971). Palestine and the Holy See both have Permanent Observer Missions to the UN. Montenegro, which recently declared independence on June 3, 2006, has stated its intentions to join the UN, which will likely be easily approved by the organization.
Of those just the Vatican, Montenegro and Palestine were once part of Roman empire.

The Non-Aligned Movement, or NAM, is an international organization of over 100 states which consider themselves not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc. The purpose of the organization as stated in the Havana Declaration of 1979 is to ensure "the national independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and security of non-aligned countries in their struggle against imperialism, colonialism, neo-colonialism, apartheid, racism, Zionism, and all forms of foreign aggression, occupation, domination, interference or hegemony as well as against great power and bloc politics". NAM focuses on national struggles for independence, the eradication of poverty, economic development and opposing colonialism, imperialism, and neo-colonialism. They represent 55% of the planet's people, most of the world's authoritarian governments and nearly two-thirds of the United Nation's members
Important members include India, Egypt, Yugoslavia, South Africa, Malaysia and, for a time, the People's Republic of China. Brazil
