i have an uncle that died from being in vietnam i would like to know why..?

Jen, that's a hard one to answer with no info. Alot of Vet's died back in the states for a lot of different reasons. Alcoholism, Addiction, Agent Orange, Mental Illness, War wound..... That's something you would need to ask your family. If your getting "He died from being in Vietnam" as your answer, I'm assuming they feel your too young to hear the truth, or maybe They are the ones that are having a hard time dealing with his death. Give it some time, then ask a family member you feel comfortable talking with. But just being their i couldn't give you an answer based on that. But know this, despite all the things you may have heard about that war, your uncle was a hero and ultimately gave his life for this country and to try to better theirs. It was a horrible place to be, and nobody should have to endure the horrific events our soldiers did. Many came home very different people and understandably were unable to erase terrible memories of the time there. To make matters worse, they weren't taken care of the way they should have been when and if they came home, but alot of civilians treated them like outcasts and were very unwelcoming back on their own soil. messed up.

We were in the Vietnam War to try and stop the communists from taking over the country. We failed, and after the communist takeover about two million Vietnamese were killed by the communist government.
