What I did for my daughter was, take her grandmothers first name... Teri and her middle name Susan and combine them.. getting Teran. She is now deceased so it is a good way to keep the name in the family, just not as similar. It also worked for my little sister. She got my grandmas name.. Carol Ann becoming.. Carann! And if she would have been a boy, it would have been Roth for Roland Theodore!! Try it with a few family members of yours!!

Traditionally the first daughter should be named after her grandmother (my middle name is Mary) however most names are very old fashioned so people don't stick to tradition.

It is hard to pick a middle name when I don't know the first! It should be a solid name though and easy for the child to pronounce and spell when she is older.

Get yourself a book of baby names and look up the meanings. It is surprising what some names actually mean!

Here are some ideas....
A middle name can be your mother's maiden name....
Lets say you name your son Jack Smith. Put in your mother's name before she was married or use your maiden name.....lets say it is Johnson. Then name your son Jack Johnson Smith.

Also if you have someone your admire use their name as a middle name. Lets say you adore Marllyn Monore. You name your girl something like Madison and us Monore as middle name. And your last name Aston. Thus the child would be
Madison Monroe Aston.

You can also use an animal name or any object. Lets say.
Time. YOu are always late or wasting time. Name your kid. Justin Smith. Add the word Time. His name would be
Justin Time Smith.

Let say you love spring. Name your daughter Jennifer Spring Smith. or Emily Winter Smith. Jane Apple Jones
Jax Tire Jones. John Coin Smith. , Anna Sweet Smith,
or use a combination of a famous persons name like....
Vincient Price and old actor. Name your son,, lets say
David and your last name is Price. thus.David Vincient Price.
Take the last name Barrymore. Name your daughter
Alison Drew Barrymore.
and so on....

Congratulations....Is it a boy or a girl? One thing you might look into is using a grandparents name for a middle name, it can form a special bond. My daughters middle name is Marie, which is her grandmothers middle name ( even though its my mother-in-law) I think it was a good Idea. If you could tell me what his or her first name might be I'm sure you could get allot if input for a middle name.

To get some ideas ask parents, grandparents, elderly aunts etc. You may find some great ones in your family tree. Then when your child asks why he/she named it. You can say it is a old family name that they can be proud of!
