Fire in Japanese can NOT be confused with 'hi' as in hello!!
It's pronounced like 'he'!
ç« / ã² / hi. (Pronounced like the English word 'he'!) is a fire.
Honou (ã»ã®ã) is ç or ç. This is just a flame, not a proper fire.
However, if you want to shout 'FIRE!!' to bring someone's attention to a burning building, you need to shout ç«äº (ãã) Kaji!!!!!!

I used to think it sounded like "GODZILLA",
'cause every time in the movies when they screamed it, stuff began bursting into flames.
