Of course not.
But again I'm not Christian, and -- depending on the church -- I'd take advantage of my visit and use the opportunity as an educational vehicle for the parishoners.

I would be ashamed to associate with any church...I am much smarter than that. It would seem that intelligence goes with the gay gene..one of the little blessings God gives us. Among others, good looks, good bodies, and great taste. With these blessings, we are able to gain very good jobs, make a lot of money, buy very big and nice houses, and we are able to recognize the next "IN neighborhood". In doing so, we come in droves, buy very low, spend little, and fix up so straights can follow us and give us huge sums of money for the houses while we move on the the next area to make vast sums of more money. God has also given us a great sense of humor (that is why we tolerate stupidity from many straights). What he withheld from us was a beer bottle attached to our mouths, a gut that hangs over our belt, pants that show butt crack when we bend, and rusted out pickup trucks parked in front of the local red neck watering hole...where you will find the straight men whining and crying about how the gays are so rotten (translation...have so much more than we do). The sad truth to straight men is that Gays are God's chosen elite. WE don't have to go to church to find God, he is with us 24/7, guiding our every step to riches and comfort. After all, his Son lived with 13 men and had little or no use for women. Take a hint. Unfortunately, you cannot turn gay and join the club...God chooses the souls, not humans.

I'm not a man, but I am gay, so I hope you'll still consider this answer.
I am absolutely not ashamed to go to church because of my orientation. I still go fairly frequently and participate when I go. My shame is not for my orientation but for the people in my church who would kick me out if they knew, because their hate and fear is not at all the love and peace that the church teaches.

Why should I be ashamed to go to church, G-d loves all his creatures and gays are no exceptions. If anyone should be ashamed it is the closed mindedness of some of the other church goers

Of course I wouldn't. The purpose of church is to gather together to worship God. My sexual orientation is not really related.
"... those who worship god must worship in spirit and in truth."
I would be more ashamed to attend church and pretend that I am something I am not... just to make a preacher or some of the congregation happy.
God had EVERY opportunity to transform me into a heterosexual. It was my most heartfelt prayer for several years. For one reason or another I remained steadfastly homosexual, even after doing everything the bible said to do, everything my pastor said to do, and everything my parents told me to do.
Why would I be ashamed to appear before God the way he chose to allow me to be. If, by some chance he rejects me because he still thinks there was more I should have done to become straight, he does not deserve my worship or adoration. It was left in his hands many years ago.
I have faith that if it mattered that much to him, he would have solved the problem.

I'm already banned from going to the church. I kept trying to come onto the priest... somehow he found it "offensive." What's his problem...? I just wanted some good, unclean fun. Lmaooo.
Oh yeah, the "devil" made me do it. He's really sexy, too. [closes eyes and fantasizes for a little bit... while eating Cocoa Puffs] Eww. Scratch that. I despise Cocoa Puffs... and oddly enough, I choose not to believe in the "backspace" key temporarily. :-D

I personally don't go to church but if I did (and my orientation was public knowledge), I would feel out of place. That really saddens me that people could be so cruel as exclude someone for such a minute and unchangeable reason.
It's really inconstantly listening to all of these negative answers. If you don't like "us" than why are you here? Do "we" go into area's we don't like or agree with and insult them (some of "us" do but that's not the point). If you don't like "us" than please refrain from posting here...

why should they be ashamed, you can believe in god no matter what sex you prefer, the priest just likes to think he's right esp when he's not supposed to have a gf but still has someone on the side
