really, it's excruciating. it's like talking to a post, only WAY more stupid. Are all teenagers today really that uninformed about the world? I was only 16 10 years ago, and it seems like we had way more knowledge of the world outside of tenth grade. Have things really changed that much in a decade?

When your 16 you think you already know everything. So why listen to anyone else when you already have all the answers.

Maturity is measured in different ways. Many young people are wise beyond their years, some are not. Some children may not take advantage of whats out there for them to learn, it may have something to do with the way they have been brought up by family, media, etc. Also, you cant judge a person without actually knowing them. Not everyone wants to be serious all of the time. And, arent you the one that has Aqua Teen Hunger Force's Milkshake as your avatar? For a 26 year old, I see this as immature. But that is my opinion, and opinion only. See how this works? (I am 19)
Oh, and grammar is not everyone's forte. Grammar and the English language is my master, but its not for everyone. I think you are overly pessimistic and obviously very bored if all you can do is sit here and ***** about everyone else. I'm only on here because I had a question on a pregnancy comments page, and led me to this. I found your question amusing and have thus answered you twice.

I'm 16 and I feel as if I'm not as "stupid" and "uninformed" as you make all 16 year old girls to be. Yes, I have knowledge of the world outside the tenth grade, and I find it offensive that you compare all 16 year old girls to posts "except stupider." I understand the concern that people have about teenagers' minds slipping away and going down the drain. I'm sure though that when you were a teenager, you had other preocupations also. I admitt I like to have fun. But, next time think about what you say about ALL 16 year old girls.

The last time I had a chat with a 16 year old girl I was 18... that was 29 years ago!!! Boy, imagine the differences nowadays... I couldn't even imagine keeping up with them in conversation.
Things that are important to a 16 y/o nowadays are not the same as a 26 y/o like yourself. Don't be so quick to condemn. There have been a lot of changes, and overall I think they've done pretty good so far.

Well see not all teens are like that. I am one of them. I have seen things that people your age will never see.. I have been through a lot in my life and I have learned from other peoples mistakes. Not all teen girls are snobby immature wenches... some of us are wise and mature beyond our age. If there is one thing that ticks me off the most it would be people acting like they are better then other people. Some need to grow up, get a life, and quit being so self centered. Other people have more on their mind then what your boyfriend wrote you while he was in treatment and we really dont want you calling us to ask us what you should wear.. why do we care if you dress like a sl*t?? If we tell you this your just gonna ***** at us anyway. It doesnt matter if your boyfriend dumped you.. you'll find another boyfriend... so be a survior and not a victim and get over it.

Not all of them are that stupid, things have changed and parenting keeps getting worse and some of the kids just plain don't care. If you are 26, what are you doing talking to a 16 year old girl (AND YOU ARE MARRIED WITH CHILDREN, DOES YOUR WIFE KNOW ABOUT THIS?) Hopefully not on line and hope it was not in bad taste, that would put you right there with the stupid one you talked to. Just what did you expect her to know?
Well, now that I read what you wrote about yourself in your profile, I know it wasn't your daughter or her friend and hope it wasn't YOUR WIFE you talked to that was 16 YEARS OLD???? You surely are not the funniest person I will ever meet. I encourage all of you to look at this guys profile! Ya don't have to judge a book by it's cover, this cover says it all...
This guy is kinda weird himself and if you think about it "SCARY"! Parents, please watch out who your 16 YEAR OLD GIRL TALKS TO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You should be more descriptive of who you talked to! You generalized and that is why people are lashing out, Geee, I won't tell anyone who you talked to....... :-O
Watch for a new Question in response to this one, I do not need email to talk on here, no one knows who you are and FRAUD is out of the question. No Name, No Fraud (I don't know you)! Some feathers got ruffled and some were ruffled in return! Must I apologize? NOTHING TO HIDE!
By the way JenD (BABE what's that all about?), it DOES work both ways, a Masters degree has nothing to do with anything.

I live next door to a set of twins who are 16 and they keep me up today on what is going on in the world so you can't judge all 16 year olds from the ones you seem to know.

You can't judge a group by one individual. I have spoken to many young people and they have been challenging conversations and made me feel stupid.

Yup, my daughter. She is really hard to handle
around night. She never really does dishes and turns music up really loud. I don't think she is really mature enough.
We tell her she shouldn't get peircings, but teenagers never listen..
Do they?
