migraines!! But if you like sex and don't want babies and aren't good at watching the calendar, or your body, well, I would just go with a really low dosage, but I warned you about the migraines!
Oh, my husband and I had sex every day the first 5 years we were married, sometimes more than once or twice a day, real horn dogs, and I got pregnant anyway after the 5th year. I bleed three times that month, went to see a doctor and found out I was a month pregnant, so...can't always trust the pill. Especially if you have a lot of sex. By the way, the baby is now 21 and very wonderful.
There have been a lot of changes in birth control over the years, but I always took birth control and took different types. My headaches just got worse and worse until I had to stop bc all together. I charted my vaginal flow. Not just blood, but anything else. The wetter I was, well , the more I knew I could get pregnant and finally after 2 planned babies, I decided it was enough. I had a hysterectomy, kept my overies, my sex life is still pretty active and I never gained weight. Just eat right and exercise!

Common side effects
The most common side effects are changes in menstrual periods, including:
Very light or skipped periods.
Bleeding between periods (spotting), which usually decreases after using a hormonal method for 3 to 4 months.
Less common side effects
Less common side effects of combination hormonal methods include:
Nausea and vomiting, especially during the first month of use. (Try taking your pill with your evening meal or at bedtime and then sleeping through the high-hormone hours that can cause nausea. Or take your pill with breakfast, if nausea bothers you at night.) This side effect is least likely with the vaginal ring. Nausea usually goes away after the first few months of use. If not, a lower dose of estrogen may help.5
Frequent or more severe headaches. Migraine headaches may get worse. This side effect is least likely with the vaginal ring.
Breast tenderness for the first few months.
Uncommon side effects
Side effects that are sometimes reported with hormonal birth control use include:5
Weight gain. (Although some women report weight gain with birth control pill use, studies suggest that generally, long-term weight gain is not a common side effect.6)
Depression or mood changes.
Darkening of the skin on the upper lip, under the eyes, or on the forehead (chloasma). This may slowly fade after you stop using hormonal methods, but in some cases, it is permanent.
Decreased interest in sex.
I personally prefer Depo Provera though. I've been on the shot for two years and I like it better than the pills

irregular menstrual bleeding
nausea, weight gain, headaches, dizziness, and breast tenderness
mood changes
blood clots (rare in women under 35 who do not smoke)
These will tend to go away after a few cycles.
