If you demonstrate the "likes" that gay people find irrestible in modern-day society... it should only be a part of Murphy's Law. If your best friend likes the same things you demonstrate, he WILL fall in love with you. I might as well call this the Gay Murphy's Law or Murphy's Gay Law.
Truth is: a lot of gay guys fantasize about their close (or best) friends. Sometimes the temptation gets to be so dreaded that they'll act out on it. But most of the time... they lie in silent repose, hoping for the one day that they'll best friend make the first move. Quite sad, if you ask me... but what can you do?
A lot of people lack the "huevos" to step up and tell their best friends how they feel. It's much safer to express nonchalant and friendly love, especially if you think that expressing passionate, sweating, mind-numbing love will be a dangerous and stupid thing to do.
If I only had more energy to type. Email me if you want to discuss it.

My cousin is gay. So is the kid I grew up with across the street. My relationship with them has no bearing on their sexual orientation. If a person abandons you after you come out then that small minded person wasn't your friend after all.

Ten to one says that your closest friends do not have the same sexual interests as you. But, if he is a good friend he will understand when you tell him.
