Villacana is actually: Playa del Sol - Villacana...it is halfway between Estepona and San Pedro Alcantara (Marbella)... It is a lovely area, not too overcrowded, across the highway from La Cancelada. There are a couple of very nice hotels in that area, Hotel Playabella is one of them... This summer promises to be hot so bring swimwear!! You are about a 30 min. drive from Gibraltar, and Algeciras, a 20 minute drive from the center of Marbella, and an hour and a half from Malaga itself...

Estepona is nice - went there three years ago and going again in 3 weeks - if you hire a car take a trip to Gibralter and go out on a boat to watch the dolphins - thay swim beside the boats - its wonderful to see them in their natural surroundings (word of advice park Spain side of the border to avoid traffic jams getting back. Have a good time.

August is real hot and real crowded.
