My sister is living at home with my mom and her dad and the home enviroment is very bad. Her dad does drugs and drinks a lot and our mom doesn't seem to care. She wants to move in with me, but my mom won't let her. I practically support her anyway. How does she go about moving out and in with me if she's only 14 years old?

Call Child Protective Services and explain what's going on. Tell them that you want custody of your sister. Your parents will have to pay child support which is only fair. Get her out of there.

If you are over 18, you need to go to court to try to get custody. This will be very hard, because your parents will be mad at you and the courts might not feel that you are able to provide a stable environment either.
Schedule some consultations with some local lawyers who specialize in Family Court; initial visits are usually free, and they'll give you honest advice about whether you have a good case or not.
Or you could always report your parents to your State's Division of Youth and Family Services (or whatever the name is where you live) and have them remove your sister from the home, and help you get custody.

If you're of legal age, you'll have to petition the courts. Make sure that you have solid evidence, maybe taped phone calls of the abuse or drug usage, or video of both or either. Some courts will allow them into evidence. go to social services and bring her with you and you both can tell whats going on, and they will make a investigation, if all claims are true they will place her to live with the next available relative or a foster home, but while you are there tell them that you have been taking care of her and you would like for her to live with you and do the paper work that is required so that you can officially become her guardian....

First find a legal aid lawyer and asked them question on getting custody of your sister. Try talking with your mother again about letting your sister live with you but if she is not willing to listen take her butt to court and let the judge handle it.

You may try talking to someone a the Department of Human Services in your area...have your sister talk to a teacher or the school counselor, or even the principle at school!

I they wont let her live with , Go to JD (court house) go to the clerks office and ask to speak to the in take officer they can tell you what you can...are they getting welfare for her..they might be hold her for that.
my sisters where in the same way as yours....I went to visit them and told my mom I was going to take them for a ride and I sure 14 hr ride to their daddy's house.

but I am a guardian litem for children. I chose that kind of job for abused children ,after seeing what my mom did to my sisters..

you need to first threaten your mom and dad, tellthem that you are planning on calling the cops if she doesnt let your sister live with you. are you ready to have problems with your parents? they will try to fight you if you do this. get your sisiter out of there, she doesnt need to see that. she doesnt need to be aroud that. threaten them and tell them that you will make up more stuff if they dont let her go with you. what will they do if she just picks up and leaves??? call the cops??? no i dont think so. she will get mad and then thats where you will say if my sister doesnt stay with me then i will my self call the cops anf give up eveerything to try to keep her from you.good luck.

you will need a court order because your sister is too young.
after she turns 16 she can refuse to live with her parents.
