what are the steps you need to go through if you want to become a singer?

First, you need to make sure that the talent is there.
Then, you need to be confident enough to brace yourself for haters and no's from industry execs.
You need to have/obtain material (lyrics) with music and get into a studio to record a few tracks for a demo.
Once you have a demo recorded, you need to get your music out there.
That's better said than done because there is plenty of red tape and BS to cut through to get to business-minded individuals that will actually help you.

I would advise you to get with someone that you trust, and shop your demo to different labels. Lots of people tell you to create a buzz first, but I personally dont agree with that because you dont want to have a false start, and once you have a deal, people are tired of you and its time to re-invent yourself and you havent even come out yet.

All that's down the line, though, sweetie. Start singing, rehearsing, prepare yourself and your nerves, because you never know when you'll have to perform on the spot for someone.

the steps i think to become a singer are.. you have to go to tons of auditions, you can't miss a day of work, you record one song over and over again until the record label people like how it sounds, and doesn't want to change a single thing, and it takes a couple months to finish and put out a album.

First off, it would help if you could sing. If you can't sing and you're just a shower singer fine. Have you tried the American Idol??? It might be worth a try.

you have to make a record, get signed by a record company, and theyll put your record out, and if its ne good people will buy it. Making it as big as beyonce is hard because unforunatly with pop music you have to be talented as well as beautiful.

ok believe me, i know this because my brothers band, Eye of Indira went through it too...even though they arent extremely famous.....they are really really good...
any ways.
1)You have to make a band, you know, drums,bass,guitars,ETC.
2)you and your band have to think of a name...for your band
3)you have to start making a few songs and play at a few local concerts here and there
4)after you have made a few songs, you have to go to a recording company and get your band signed AKA, get your band legal to sell CD's
5)keep on making new CD's and playing at larger and larger concerts, then youll make it to the top
