Would you join a new Tribe on a deserted island? It is no survivor show, it is real experience! No cameras, no connection to the outside world! You & 5000 souls would begin from scratch! Follow your adventurous spirit! Experience love, fear, suspense, power, real survival to your limits!
Once you’re on the Island, the game begins, & there is no way back! You may have to face things you have never experienced in your life!
Away from your secure society, away from your family, friends, belongings, & into a context you would not dare to imagine!

So, what! What is the experience any ways?
Be part of a new community
Take part in building a system of authority
Take part in building a political system
In setting up an economic system to ration the island’s resources
In setting rules, norms, & nurturing a culture
Assigning roles & responsibilities
Just imagine, having to start from zero! Nothing is for granted, nothing is organized, its total UNCERTAINTY!

Anarchy, famine, and no medical help. Sounds like fun to me!

Actually, it sounds a lot like the life we are living now, except we have ice cream and good coffee and you wouldn't have any for a very long time.

If you look back in time you see that all societies begin in roughly the same way and end up roughly the same. Frankly, I don't see the point of trying it again on a small scale and being miserable while we work toward another failure.

Interesting idea, but I do not believe the group would actually be starting from zero. Each participant will be expecting to set up a system similar to the one s/he already knows. Once you can get past the civil wars and power struggles, who's to say what or who will prevail?. Look at what's happening in Iraq. They are starting from scratch and they are facing violence among themselves beyond anything the occupiers are doing.(at least that's what's being told to us)

Can you imagine what that island would be like after a year? How many survivors? How many warring camps? Not a pretty picture.

And no, I would not want to partake in this experiment.

Where do I sign up ? I'd do it in a heart beat. Survival and starting a new society, culture would be cool, and the uncertainty of its return would be the most thing that would attract me to such a venture.

I really dont want to start a new society. I bet it would end up like the one we live in now or worse.
