I'm not sure if your 445 is a garden tractor, but if it is. I have put belts on them. I think you mean the belt that goes from the motor to the mower blades.

The mower deck comes off with spring pins usually and to get the belt on you need to remove the deck from it's lift mechanism. When it is loose, thread the belt in and around things the way they will be when they are connected again, then put on the belt.

Then you attach the mower deck to the lift mechanism. This is required because the tension must be such that the blades will have power at any level you move the deck to and the belt won't be thrown off, unless the mower deck is loose from its lift mechanism.
