Too many sports to choose from in the USA - baseball, football, basketball, hockey - so not much chance of soccer ever getting popular here. It's a shame, however, soccer is a great thinking man's game. Plus it's a tremendous source of pride for countries to do well in the World Cup.

Some Americans say soccer is boring, not enough scoring. Of course, any soccer fan would tell you, the sport is one of the most interesting and intense sports to watch. Of course, I;m partial I grew up in Europe, so I understand the national pride the games has for the country.

No. The US awareness of soccer has risen and the talent is getting better, but it would take complete domination in international competitions and World Cups for the average sports fan to grab hold of soccer. As Americans we like to dominate; we simply just don't like losing.

Even though this is the "Melting Pot" of the world, I don't think it will because if you grew up in a country where soccer is thee sport, in the U.S. you grow up watching baseball, basketball, NFL football, etc.. Soccer comes last. At least on my list.

No, i don't think so. Like soccer its grained into makes a european or a south american, baseball and american football does the same to the American people. But in the future it will go grow for a certain part of the population.

I don't believe so because not too many states can take the time to teach soccor to kids. Sunny states are the only ones that teach it and there aren't too many of those to go around. Here if Florida it is popular at schools but I'm from MN originally and my school never played it. Although I think we played it in gym class once.

I doubt it. Though I love watching and playing soccer, I think the country has a love affair with football (and the accompanying beer, potato chips, and buffalo wings) that it refuses to end.
