Does anyone know how I can take my computer all the way back to the way it was when I got it?

I've tried restoring it but that doesnt get rid of the problem, plus that keeps all of my files like music and pictures and I want to delete all of them, I know theres a way you can take it back all the way but you'll have to re-download Windows and I don't want to do that.

Can anyone help me?

I want it to be the day it was when I first got it, without all the stuff I've downloaded.

System Restore wont take it back that far. =(

If your Operating System is Windows XP, there is an option wich is called "System Restore". This option takes your PC back in diferent points in the past, including the moment after the installation.

Obviously this only work if this service was enable that time.

You can check it out thru Start -> Programs -> Accesories -> System Restore

The only way I can think of to accomplish what you are asking is to do a C:// format. Not entirely sure what you mean by "take it all the way down without reloading Windows", but if I were to guess, you mean to remove all programs except Windows? Well, you could do that via your Start Menu> Settings> Control Panel> Add Remove Programs and removing anything that isn't Windows...but this would leave a lot of junk on your HD still and in your registry. Best thing for you to do would probably be to get a fresh copy of Windows and format the C://

Only way to do that is...go to your "control panel" then "add and remove programs" and delete everything you don't want...

Then...go to "start".."all programs" and rightclick to delete everything else you don't want then....

Go to "start".."run"..type in msconfig then click on "startup"..uncheck anything you no longer want then click on "Services" and do the same...then you'll have to reboot...when system

reboots it will prompt you about the changes you made...just check the box on the bottom left

side saying..."don't show this message again"

That should solve your problem...Good luck
