A good deal of us geeks, myself included, don't insult you anti-star-wars-ists! When will you mature enough to show some respect? Just thinking about the things you throw at us geeks makes me sick - literally!

sorry. I was tired when I asked this question, and I did go overboard. I guess the bottom line is, I'm curious to find out WHY people don't like star wars. For example, I say I don't like Harry Potter, simply because it doesn't interest me. I'm just looking for reasons not to like star wars. Please feel free to contribute.

I like Star Wars, but I think you have to draw the line somewhere. Dressing up as Darth Vader? Going to Star Wars conventions? Dressing your kid up as an Ewok. These actions must be stopped. It's hurting America.

Some of us who love the first three (last three) absolutely hate the three new ones. I personally don't acknowledge that the latest ones were ever made because I was so highly disappointed at how childishly they were written. I know the intent was to capture a new generation into the lore, but it was dumbed down. Also, I did not enjoy the acting of Haiden or Ewan overall, which is sad because I enjoy their movies outside of the Star Wars realm. I'm a Star Wars fan too, Jedi was seen by me and my family about a billion times in the theatre (it was the only movie playing for months on end) but it's just an opinion. Don't let it get you all mad, this question cost you 5 points and gained us all two. You're losing out for no reason.

I have nothing against Star Wars, I like some of the movies and it matches very well with Joseph campbell's mythological description of the Heroe's Journey in a popular culture form. I certainly wouldn't insult Star wars fans (probably because I think nerds and dorks are sexy!!). In fact I'm more inclined to like brainy people than to like ones who are the intellectual equivalent of a sea sponge. Star wars can be cool.

Star Wars is a long adventure that you would really have to truly like to understand. You just can't see the movies, you also have to read the books to understand all of Star Wars. and kid, don't refer yourself as a geek.

Worry not, my padawan. Those pathetic, insecure people who like to mock us only do so to make themselves feel better about their own insignificant existence. Apparently, it's not okay for us to enjoy something other than just sitting around, getting high or drunk. God forbid we like to escape from reality for a few hours by immersing ourselves in a galaxy far, far away. Also, if you can show me just one person (Star Wars fan or not) who wouldn't want their own light saber, then I'll show you a liar! May the Force be with you!

just because you obsess over star wars doesnt mean everybody does and the reason you feel insulted is because YOU cant figure out why everyone doesnt like it,we are not all the same,get on with your life and realize,star wars was not that great,thats is my opinion,its kind of boring.

Star Wars is one of the Best all time set of movies ever..Geo. Lucas is a freeking gen. to come up with some of that stuff....
But least we forget us Trecies too!! Own the hole series..and I really don't consiter myself a geek. Just like what I like.

Whoa, Em. Why are you wasting valuable energy debating or disliking someone else's opinion of what you like? It should not matter in the least to you what others have to say. Opinions are like _$$holes, everbody's got one. Enjoy Sci-Fi, and let the others salute to whatever flag is flying on their pole. As for me, Sci-Fi, is at the top of the flag pole. As for the critics, there's always someone out there looking at you and wondering why you are so into whatever floats your boat. Life, is a vicious circle.

They say they don't like it because:
1. they don't understand it
2. they don't give it a chance
3. they don't like figuring out the plot line, therefore not understanding the movie, therefore finding it boring
4. it doesn't have enough sex or teenage drama in it
5. they don't find the male lead attractive enough
6. it's not a musical
7. they hate the flashing lights and sounds therefore also hating Christmas and Santa
8. they are fat and ugly
9. it's taking all of us good looking men away from them
10. they are jelous that they don't have a life
