Consider it a blessing. I mean it either came from your family or your Husbands. It's the same thing as if you have a redheaded child with freckles or something and couldnt explain it. Sometimes it goes back to family genes.

Having fraternal (non-identical) twins occurs when you ovulate twice around the same time. It can run in families, but I think this runs in the female line - so your husband's genetics would have nothing to do with it - he can have no influence over your ovulation. It may just have been a fluke that you had twins, you may be no more genetically predisposed to having twins than your sisters are. And even if your sisters carried the same variants of genes which did predispose them to having twins, it doesn't necessarily follow that their ovulations would result in twins. In other words they might be more likely than average to have twins, but timing and chance and the fact that humans tend to have small numbers of offspring make it less likely that all the sisters would have twins even when it runs in the family.

well, its just the luck of the draw. My grandfather had a twin sister, my aunt (his daughter) had twins, my cousin had twins and her mom didn't, I have 2 sets of twins and my dad doesn't have any. In total in the immediate and extended family there are 13 sets of twins. Fraternal twins run in the family. I had a single birth first (so did many in the family) and then I had 2 sets of twins. Just because it runs in the family doesn't mean that everyone will have them there is just more of a chance in some people. Its all luck.

does it not all depends on the egg/s? if you end up having more than 1 egg you no where. if an egg splits then there gonna be of the same sex( i think anyway) i no of someone who was pregnant with twins even though there was no history of it in the family, her sister however married a twin and ended up just being pregnant with 1

you had double the chance to have twins since the genetic make up of the gene that causes it to happen is on your moms side and on your husbands side as well......
