Usually sugar will work. How it works is the nerve that is irritated will redirect itself to digestion and stop being irritated. Sugar because it digests fast. Try it! You will see! I took Anatomy I and II in college and our teacher said this would work and it stuck with me. I tried it on myself and it works! Not much is needed especially on a baby.

There is nothing you can do for a baby with the hiccups, just like there isn't anything you can do for yours. They go away with time. All, or most baby's hiccup, my daughter use to hiccup when she was in my womb!! If they annoy her, give her a cuddle, distract her with a game of peek a boo, read to her.

Hiccups will not hurt the baby he will not even be bothered by them so do nothing out of the ordinary. You can feed him if you want to try and get rid of them but you shouldn't be giving he/she anything other than formula or breast milk.

Give him or her water, formula or breastmilk in a bottle. My gets hiccups all the time and it really works. You don't have to give him or her alot just a few sips.

i wouldnt do anything about it unless he/she has had them for 24 hours or more. hiccups dont hurt or bother the baby so just let his body take care of it.

they get hiccups alot when they are little....i never gave mine anything for them i would either nurse him or give him a drink and some times that would help

gripe water always workd for us or there is the old wives tale of sugar and water
