I have wealthy relatives who've told me they love me but haven't supported me when I've really needed them most. I haven't approached them and asked for their help, but they've known I was having it rough and could have helped on their own, and didn't ...

There are some generous souls and I'm one of them. I'm not rich, have no degree and have had to struggle - sometimes terribly - to build what I have but now have a net worth of about $600,000 and make well over $100,000/year ... As far as I'm concerned, money's just another tool and if a friend of mine needs my help in any way, including financially, I'll help them and not expect repayment.

I've done that several times. I'm a good friend, in part because I know how it is to need and go without. I don't trust or expect that anyone will ever help me, but I'm always willing to help others.

Be aware, though, that most of those offering help will want something in return whether they say-so or not, and that sometimes it'll be your soul.

Fighting it out and going it alone is almost always best. You know you can trust yourself ...

There is no such thing as a free lunch.
You could probably find a "sugar daddy" if you really wanted to ... but it's gonna cost you, and in the end, you will likely find that the cost is way to high. Like losing your integrity, self-respect, independence.

See if you can get a job working a few hours a week, or volunteer at a soup kitchen, then you can eat there, too. Talk with others, network, get ideas for ways to get by. This , too will pass, and when you are done, you will have a college education to show for it, as well as an education in real life.

Stand up tall, take a deep breath, and start learning how to fight for your own independence and being your own person!

Have you no pride? I wouldn't want hand outs from any of my wealthy friends. I do not need the added pressure of being indebted to someone along with any problems I may be facing. Life is full of challenges. You need to step up and deal with them.

A WEALTHY FRIEND YOUR AGE BRACKET, WILL PAY AND MAKE CLAIM OF OWNERSHIP. THEN AGAIN, HANG AROUND THE COUNTRY CLUB. IF THEY ARE YOUNGER THAN 80-THE PROSPECTS ARE SLIM.
