it is not customary if you are not the Godparent.. but you can give something if you want to.>.the godparents do bring gifts or give money as a customary..
I would be nice to give gift card, it is hard to give child things that are not really what they needed.. even though it comes from the heart.

You do not need special occasion to bring a gift and a gift is always proper for special occasions like christening. Remember saying "small gifts make friends".

No it is not necessary to bring a gift to a christening. Your not being invited because they want gifts your there because they want to share this special occasion with them.

Yes, bring something, but it does not have to be big or expensive. A toy or stuffed animal is fine.
