It's not simply running after a ball!
It's the most tactically advanced sport in the world, practically like a battle. Positioning and movement being key, and organising your best players for different roles etc.
Each to their own opinion, but I think it's safe to say that the vast majority find it better entertainment than any of your average TV program/series.
Plus the fact that the World Cup itself is on only every four years makes it more appealing to watch every game you can possibly watch (short of losing your job by not turning up to work during an England game!)

To me it's a pointless exercise of 12 men running around after a ball and trying to kick it in a net, it bores me senseless to watch it.
Also the fact that the majority of football fans are not people I would want to spend time with puts me off.

Watching a group of people running after a ball, are you kiddin', I can find no fun. I enjoy play it more !

dont play it , but enjoy watching it , have seen every game of the world cup so far but once it is finished i wont watch it as our own teams are boring they play too slow
