The usual term is "Dowsing" but I think water divining is also used.

Yes, it does work, although some would say that the person doing it needs to have this sort of gift or special ability. Others maintian it can be learned.

Related to dowsing is the use of pendulums to discern answers.

Yes it does. Its a science, not a witchcraft. Don't be afraid of it, God led somebody to try it to help them find water. You can also use it to find metal buried in the ground.
