Vanity. Think about how focused on appearance mankind has become. We elevate the "beautiful people" to a higher status than those who are plain, giving these people a false sense of higher self-worth merely because of their body shape, size or what-have-you. Yet those who are moral, good natured, kind-hearted are not elevated to such levels.

We mock those who are less attractive, and pine away over those who are considered more attractive, when in reality all human beings are beautiful, no matter what they look like on the outside.
